Oklahoma businessman, Mark A. Stansberry was recently elected as Chairman of People to People International. PTPI is a worldwide organization with a specific purpose of enhancing international understanding and friendship through educational, cultural and humanitarian activities involving the exchange of ideas and experiences directly among peoples of different countries and diverse cultures.

 

Oklahoma City, OK — Oklahoma businessman Mark A. Stansberry has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of People to People International (PTPI), consisting of a sixteen member governing board. Stansberry takes over for Current Past Chairman Joseph Patterson. Stansberry is widely known throughout Oklahoma for serving on Oklahoma’s State Chamber Energy Council, Oklahoma’s State Board of Regents, the Board of Trustees of The Fund for American Studies, and Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Heritage Association.

Other notable actions of the board meeting were the election of Rolf Dahlberg from Sweden as Vice Chairman, Hallmark Corporation Executive William Jarvis to the office of Treasurer and Mary Jean Eisenhower was re-elected as President/CEO.  Eisenhower is the granddaughter of former U. S. President Eisenhower.

“It is an honor to have been elected chairman.  People to People International is making a tremendous impact on so many lives worldwide.” Stated Stansberry.  TPTPI works diligently to better worldwide understanding and humanitarian efforts through its many programs and projects such as the Global Landmine Initiative, Project Iraqi (International) Children, Homestays Program, Leadership Seminars, Chapter Activities, the School and Class Program, Global Youth Murals Project, Cultural and Humanitarian Mission Program, International Friendship Fund, “All of the PTPI volunteers are to be commended for their outstanding commitment and dedication,” Stansberry states.

Stansberry is Chairman of The GTD Group.  He served as the 2006-2007 chairman of the Board of Regents of the Regional University System of Oklahoma, serves as chairman of the State Chamber’s Energy Council, Chairman and Founder of the International Energy Policy Conference, the Board of The Fund for American Studies, Board of Visitors of the School of Public Policy at Pepperdine University and the Board of Oklahoma Heritage Association.  He serves on other various corporate and civic boards.
